Heather Ayluardo

Dean of Instruction

Administrators and Office Staff

As a bilingual educational leader with 11 years’ experience teaching, leading and writing curriculum in Denver Public Schools, Heather could not be more excited to join the DCIS team! She’ll be joined at DCIS by her daughter, Natalia. She and her husband, Benjamín, also have a 1-year-old daughter (Eviana) and an 11-year-old cat (Arisca).

Heather is passionate about supporting educators as they grow in their teaching journeys! During her 7 years as a DPS leader, she’s had the privilege to support and coach teaching Fellows, teachers in residence, intervention teachers, paraprofessionals and early childhood educators. Her experience supporting and teaching every grade from ECE through 10th grade gives her a unique eye for vertical alignment of curriculum and targeted standards supports.

When she’s not reading up on early literacy, Heather loves to cook with her family. She also loves to read nonfiction, make travel plans, do yoga, deck out her planner, hike and watch cooking shows on Netflix.
