I am a transplant to the Denver area. I am originally from Tucson, AZ, where my family still lives. I graduated from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education with a minor in German. After finishing my undergraduate I moved back to Tucson where I taught 3rd grade for three years. During this time, I was inspired by a student to learn more about how to support students in their reading development. I decided to go back to school and earned my Masters in Instruction and Curriculum in Reading from Grand Canyon University. My last year living in Tucson, I met my amazing husband and we “ran away” to Denver haha. That was in 2013 and we have been slowly making Denver our home ever since. When I’m not at work, I love to be outside! I spend a lot of time in my garden and yard, hike as often as I can, and have been known to catch a few yoga classes. I also enjoy walking and training my two pups, Rucker and Cash.
