My name is Ana Garcia and I am from Madrid, Spain. I moved to Denver 7 years ago and fell so in love with this city and the mountains around it, that it has become my home!

I have been working in education for 14 years and before moving to Denver, I was a teacher in Madrid, Spain and Dublin, Ireland. I am very passionate about what I do and a huge advocate for multi-language learners and bilingualism!

I originally obtained a dual bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Teaching English as a Second Language from Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, and years later, I received my bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education from the same university. In 2021, I completed my Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and Leadership and IB Leadership from Universidad Camilo Jose Cela in Madrid. I am really excited to be part of the DCIS at Fairmont community. In DCIS, I teach math and science to our older students in the 5th grade DLI class during half of my day, and the other half, I am part of the leadership team. My favorite part of being part of the leadership team is supporting teachers with anything they need.

In my free time, I take any opportunity I have to travel because exploring the world and new cultures is one of my passions. I also practice hot yoga regularly, love hiking and camping, anything craft related and cooking.

Please, if you see me around, stop and say hi!
