I’m so excited to be joining your wonderful community! I’ll be starting my 5th official year of teaching in the fall. I taught for 3+ years in an MI-A classroom working with students with moderate to severe autism. Currently, I’m finishing up a year as a mild moderate special education teacher.

At DCIS at Fairmont, I’ll have a dual role of special education teacher and reading specialist. I have a Master’s Degree in Special Education and in Reading. I’m excited to have the opportunity to combine my passion for reading instruction with my experience as a special education teacher. I am a self-proclaimed reading curriculum geek 🙂

I’m originally from Sacramento but I’ve lived in Denver for nearly 20 years. I’m a mother of two teenage boys, 18 and 15. My oldest will be a sophomore in college at Wells College (NY) and my youngest will be a junior at Manual High School. They both play competitive baseball which makes summer time amazing and busy. My hobbies are record collecting (and listening), sewing, traveling, playing the SIMS4, plant hoarding, and researching new and fun ways to teach reading.
