Hello and welcome to the 2023-2024 school year DCIS Fairmont Community!! My name is Sarah (she/her) and this is my 3rd year teaching at DCIS with a wonderful, inclusive classroom (general education students and special needs). Due to my special education background I pride myself on an equitable setting where we as a team (paraprofessionals, speech language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, audiologists, school psychologist, student interns and parents/caregivers) pride ourselves in providing supports through individual teachings and group lessons to meet the unique needs of everyone. We provide a foundation of social/emotional skills in order to learn how to develop relationships, communicate, and express feelings. Let’s not forget our peer models who have a heavy impact on how kids learn in the classroom! I have lived in Colorado for most of my life and love travel, walking my dogs, and spending time with family and friends.
