Hello! My name is Shannon Larsen. I teach ECE 3/4 in English. I am looking forward to starting the new school year, and I know it will be a great year for us all. This will be my fifth year at DCIS, and this will be my 16th year of teaching. Of all the different schools and teaching approaches I have experienced, this school and the international model are very special to me. It is my hope that all my students and their families will feel the same.

Some fun facts about me:

I have an M.Ed. and graduate certificate in curriculum and instruction.

I have worked in many diverse educational settings and instructional roles, such as special education, middle school language arts, arts integration, Montessori, Buddhist summer kids program, personalized learning, Destination Imagination coach, and international curriculum team specialist.

I have two kids Eli- 5 years old and a DCIS kindergartener, and Alan- 17, and a Denver School of the Arts Senior.

I am a yoga teacher.

I love animals and being outdoors.

I am vegan.

I love to read.

I write poetry.

I love to travel.

I love music and have a very musical family.
